A warm welcome to the Uckermark
Peace with nature
image author: TMB GmbH The
Uckermark lies in the most north-eastern part of the
Mark Brandenburg only 80km from Berlin and at the border to the neighbour Poland. The
countryside of Germany's most sparsely populated district is formed by over
400 lakes, the big protected areas
National Park Unteres Odertal, Biosphärenreservat Schorfheide-Chorin and
Nature Park Uckermärkische Seen with
moor and wooded areas,
rare flora and fauna as well as
tree avenues.
Visitors go on discovery trips with unusual vehicles like
handcar and
hydro-bike, but also classically on guided
walks,
canoe or
bicycle tours. Medieval
fortifications,
buildings of north German
brick gothic, well preserved
old town centres and
stone churches mark the charming towns of
Templin, Angermünde and
Prenzlau.
In
Lychen,
rafting trips are being organised and a
Rafter Museum documents the old trade tradition.
Annually
celebrations like the
Rafter and
Fish Festival in Lychen, the
Tobacco Event near Schwedt/Oder, the
Uckermärkische Music Weeks or
art exhibitions and
pleinairs invite you to enjoy art and culture
outdoors.
Visitors find
relaxation in the just opened
NaturThermeTemplin at the Thermalsoleheilbad (thermal spa) Templin. There
hot salt springs,
sauna landscapes, a
health and wellness area, different
massages and
applications as well as the
gastronomy take care of the guests' well-being.
Do come and see the Uckermark.
We look forward to your visit!
