The
2nd World War left his traces also in
Schwedt. Still, the town offers its visitors a lot: For instance the
Berlischky-Pavilion (French reformed Church), where
concerts take place regularly. Culture lover are here at the right: They either feast their eyes on contemporary art at the
Städtischen Museum or at the
Gallery at the Ermelerspeicher or try a presentation of the
Uckermärkischen Bühnen, at the place of the former
palace.
The
Culture-House at the old palace park is the backdrop every year in summer for the
concerts of the
Schlosspark-Festivals. The
National Park Unteres Odertal can also be easily discovered from here.
South of Schwedt in
Criewen is the
Information Centre of the Nature Park and the
Criewener Schlosspark situated.
The village
Gartz, north of Schwedt, made its name with the
German-Polish Music-Days.
