A warm welcome to Lychen

Lychen is the town of the rafter.
That is not that unusual as it is situated amidst the Nature Parks Uckermärkische Lakes. Apart from adventurous rafting trips on the Oberpfuhl Lake, original pieces at the Flößereimuseum (Raft Museum) help to illustrate the trade of rafting of timber.
A lot is happening at the Flößerfest (Rafter's Festival) that takes place every year in August. The village itself is also lovely: The medieval city-wall is for the most part still standing and surrounds the village heart with its market place that is encircled by lime trees and baroque town hall.

Should bicycle tours, hikes or boating trips be too ordinary for you, then try entertainment of a special kind: ride a bicycle on water.
Hydro-Bike is Lychen's magic word and every curious and adventurous person can try it out himself.
