Boitzenburg
Brandenburg's deep North
image author: Frank Preuß Moated castle, watermill and monastery ruin:
The little village Boitzenburg at the Märkischen Eiszeitstraße has lots to offer. The moated castle stems from the 16th century and can present a wonderfully preserved upper house with hunting room from the year 1640 and an idyllic park, created by Peter Josef Lenné.
Don't miss the ruin of the former Cistercian nunnery.
image author: Frank Preuß The watermill a few steps from here stems from the 17th century and houses exhibitions that answers many questions about the Uckermark: Whether history, technique, agriculture or nature, there is a lot of information about all areas. That Boitzenburg surrounded directly by the Nature Park Uckermärkische Seen, means only one thing: Don't forget your hiking boots and bicycles.
Do come and see Boitzenburg.
We look forward to you visit!
